Why is Snowboarding in Courchevel and the Three Valleys So Sweet?
The Lifts
From modern, fast and very efficient lifts through to a free and frequent bus service linking the villages of Courchevel (1850), Moriond (1650), Village (1550), Le Praz together; the pistes are well laid out and getting around is super easy.
The Runs
The main runs in Courchevel are Verdons, Chenus, Saulire and Biollay plus the runs down to La Tania. You can easily spend an entire week circling these runs. They offer wide, varied terrain with loads of lumps and bumps to jump off and jib. The trees down to La Tania are awesome when there is powder on the ground….and don’t forget about Fun Park under the Verdons lift. These are only a few of the runs in Courchevel, there are loads more, but these should definitely be on your list.
Courchevel Moriond (1650)
You can also make your way over to Courchevel Moriond (1650). This area is great, normally a lot quieter than the 1850 side and it gets the sun all day long in March. The main runs here leave the top of the Signal chair. The runs are wide and vary in gradient but never get too steep making this area great for beginners looking to progress after their lessons have ended. A great run is from the top of the Signal chair all the way down to town.
So much to explore!
The beauty of Courchevel is that it is so easy to explore the whole of the Three Valleys, starting with Meribel and its excellent parks Moon & DC Area 43, then its St Martin, Les Menuires & Val Thorens, and even further afield the 4th valley of Orelle.
